How This Site Came To Be

Back To Home Page

Welcome!

The idea behind this web site is to provide information to the novice and intermediate Koi keeper. A great deal of the material found here was taken from various web sites, magazines, and email from acknowledged experts, as well as from experienced friends. Where possible, the source will be credited.

Koi keeping is as much an art form as it is a science. There are *few* hard and fast rules. A lot of the techniques and procedures are specific to a geographical region. What works well for me in theSouth, may not be a good idea for a pond in Canada. Advice offered by any pond keeper should be taken at face value. It is being given because it is believed by the giver to be sound. There is usually more than one approach to any situation, and another person may tell you something entirely different. Can they both be right? Yes, they can. Each person has found their own way. It will be up to you to decide what answer will work best in your location. The responsibility is yours, and yours alone.

Caveat Emptor.

The most important point I'll try to get across here is, "In this endeavor, as in all things, there is No one True Way." There are many paths, indeed. All lead to the same place. I't doesn't matter how you get there, so long as you *do* get there.

Enjoy the journey!
